OUR RANGE OF OVERHEAD CRANES
SINGLE GIRDER OVERHEAD CRANE
Single girder cranes are the most common overhead crane across many industries. They work well in buildings with no height restrictions or where operational costs are lean. The hoist is a beam (girder) with a hoist suspended from it. Because of its simplicity, the single girder crane is reliable and easy to operate.
DOUBLE GIRDER OVERHEAD CRANE
RGM provides double girder cranes able to lift loads up to 100 tonnes. Our best double girder bridge crane provides ample overhead room with the greatest hook height. The cranes are perfect for heavy engineering, construction, rail yard, and port operations. Installing a double girder crane ensures maximum efficiency and a streamlined workflow.
RGM Cranes designs and manufactures jib cranes that can support loads up to 1 Tonne. We provide wall-mounted, ceiling or wall-mounted articulating, and wall-travelling jib cranes. All these cranes don’t require any floor space, maximising the space you can use in and around the crane. Our jib booms are simple to operate with the touch of a button or push-pull operation.
FULL AND SEMI-PORTAL CRANES
Full portal cranes usually lift 80 to 100 metric tonne loads.
Semi-portal cranes are mainly single girder and double girder hoists for smaller operations. These cranes can lift loads at speeds of 12.5 m/min, increasing your lifting efficiency. RGM semi-portal cranes are designed in-house and adhere to all international safety standards.
GURALP WIRE ROPE HOIST CRANES
Güralp wire rope hoist cranes come in manual and electric variations. To recommend the correct crane for you, we’ll look at several factors. We’ll help you look at the size of your operation, calculate the duty cycle of the hoist, and the average loads to be lifted. Wire rope hoists are easy to scale for loads ranging from 12t to 100t.
GURALP ELECTRIC CHAIN HOIST
Güralp electric hoists offer the best load-distribution for the 250kg to 100t load range. The hoists are simple to operate and can work in tandem, meaning more than one hoist can be used at a time. Electric hoists need little human oversight, increasing your operational efficiency and safety.

CONSIDER YOUR LOAD CAPACITY
You should always start with the load capacity as your first consideration. If your average load is below 5t, then you can use a jib crane which uses a chain hoist mechanism. These cranes are meant for infrequent use in their manual form and if electrical, their duty cycle increases likewise. You will be able to use an electrical chain hoist much more than a manual one. But if this is not a necessity, then you should not spend more money than is appropriate for your operations and budget.
WIRED ROPE HOISTS AS AN OVERHEAD SOLUTION
Wire rope hoists are the leader in overhead cranes and come mostly in electric form. These can be put to use for varying load capacities over 5t up to 100t sometimes. This is because of the tensile strength of the wire rope itself and the fact that the entire crane is generally more durable and made of stronger materials because it lifts heavier loads. Some of the biggest wire rope hoists in the world are gantry cranes and portal cranes.
For standard operations, single girder and double-girder wire rope hoists are used. These are mounted above the area where a load is to be lifted and where it must be placed. They are able to carry the load vertically, and then horizontally to where it needs to be placed. This is all done automatically, so all your workers need to do is learn the controls and then the overhead crane does the rest.
There are many other considerations to make when choosing an overhead crane such as duty cycle, hoisting speed, the motor power output and overall safety of the crane – but these are decisions RGM Cranes is more than happy to help you make. Our team of specialist sales engineers are always willing to lend a hand and guide you in your crane-purchasing journey. Contact RGM Cranes today to get your quote and fine-tune your operations.
WHAT IS AN OVERHEAD CRANE?
Overhead cranes cover a small or large rectangular area, moving a load side to side and backwards and forward. The lifting device called a hoist or hoist crane is mounted on a trolley for horizontal movement across a bridge beam connected to one or more horizontal girders (single or double beam) which are supported at either end by end trucks. The end trucks are attached at right angles to the girders and move on fixed runways. The horizontal travel of push-type cranes is powered manually by the operator; alternately, an electric overhead crane is powered by electricity. Overhead cranes assist in the transport and movement of large, heavy loads in a variety of industries.
